Anna May married Tony Black in 1908 and they had three children: Ione, LaVerne & Dorothey. They settled in Warren County, PA, and lived in Tidioute and Oil City at various times, where Tony worked in the lumber industry. Their youngest daughter, Dorothey, later wrote a book about growing up in the forests of Pennsylvania, and dedicated the book to her granddaughter, Whitney. Tragedy struck when Anna May died unexpectedly of a stroke at the age of 31, leaving Tony with three young children to raise. The descendants of Anna May currently live in Iowa, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania and Arizona. Anna May and Tony are buried in Warren County in the Limestone Cemetery.

  • Ione Violet Black (1909 - 2001) married Foster Florine Maze in 1927. They lived in Warren County, Pennsylvania where she was a housewife. They had no children. They retired to Homestead, Florida and both passed away there.
  • LaVerne Thomas Black (1911 - 1982) had 4 children. Alice, Gerald and Jacqueline with his first wife, Alice; and Thomas with his second wife, Veva. Verne passed away in Danville, PA.
  • Dorothey DuChaine Black (1913 - 1993) married Raymond (Don) Baughman and they had three daughters, Patricia and her twin sisters, Dorothey and Elizabeth. They lived in Cedar Rapids, IA. Dorothey and Don are buried in Marion, IA.
